Leviticus 5 : Cases Requiring Sin Offerings
Sin offerings need to be given in the following circumstances
1. If someone doesn't give evidence in court when he is asked to about something he knows or has seen.
2. If someone touches something ritually unclean unintentionally and then realizes that later.
3. If someone touches something unclean of human origin unintentionally and then realizes that later.
4. If someone makes a careless vow
When a person is guilty, he must confess the sin and bring a female goat or sheep as an offering to the Lord.
If the man cannot afford goat or sheep, he must bring 2 doves or pigeons. If he cannot afford the birds, he must bring flour without olive oil or incense.
If anyone does not pay what is due to the Lord, he must bring repayment offering to the Lord. It must be a male sheep or a goat.
