1 Chronicles 17 : David wants to construct a temple
David calls Prophet Nathan and says to him - "I live in a palace of cedar but God Almighty is in a tent". Nathan tells him to go ahead and construct a temple if that is what he wants since God is with David.
But that night, Nathan has a vision. God tells the prophet that it is not up to David to construct a temple. God tells him that one of David's sons will construct the temple. God promises Nathan that David's descendants will be blessed.
God's greatest promise
"I will make one of your sons king and will keep his kingdom strong.
...
I will put him in charge of my people and my kingdom forever. His dynasty will never end."
Nathan tells this to David. David is very thankful to God and says a prayer thanking God for everything in his life.
