Exodus 18 : Moses appoints Judges
Moses's father in law, Jethro comes to know of everything that has been happening and comes over to the camp of Israelites with his daughter and grandsons. Moses is very happy to see his wife and children. He tells them the story of how God rescued the Israelites from Egyptians.
Jethro stays with Moses for a few days and sees that he works throughout the day in settling the disputes of people. He advises Moses to choose some wise men and make them Judges so that they would handle minor disputes and only for major ones people could come to Moses. Moses heeds to his father in law's advice and appoints Judges. Jetro sees that everyone is happy and goes back to his home.
