Day 64 - Exodus : Chapter 14

Exodus 14 : Crossing the Red Sea

This incident is the most momentous in the history of Israelites. It is also the mostly widely told and marks a dramatic moment.

As it happens, the king realizes that the people of Israel have gone. He realizes that all the grand buildings and other projects in the country would stop because Israelites are gone. He takes and army and pursues them.

The people are on their feet and the king's army is on horses. So the king catches up with Israelites soon. The people get scared and cry to Moses for help. Moses prays to God. God tells Moses to raise his staff towards the sea. He does that and the sea opens up, parts to both sides leaving land in the middle. The people are amazed and run into the land. Egyptians follow them. But their chariots get stuck and God rains fire and smoke over them and they cannot see. Israelites cross the Red sea and Moses brings his staff down. This drowns all the Egyptians who are caught in the sea.
